A Visit from Sister Christine Henry of the Downs & West Community Support

The Quilting Group had the pleasure of a visit from Sister Christine Henry of the Downs & West Community Support to their meeting on Monday 7th September. Some of the members had been busy and we were very pleased to donate 21 quilts, a sewing machine and a child's outfit to be passed onto farmers and families affected by drought in South-West Queensland.

A sneak peak at this weekend's exhibition at the Artists' Show and Sale at the Creative Centre at the Maleny Showgrounds. Please see below for all the details.

MACG Artisan Show and Sale

The Maleny Arts and Crafts Group will hold their Artisan Show and Sale at the Showgrounds on Saturday 4th July and Sunday 5th July. Open from 9am - 4pm both days, there will be an auction held at 11am on Sunday.  Collector Art Works and Studio Sale Bargains will be available to purchase as well as a range of Painting, Claywork and Glass Art Originals made by local artists.
The Maleny Agriculture Show is over for another year. With over 10,000 people through the gates over the two days it was deemed a success. Congratulations to the Maleny Show Society for putting on such a great show.

MACG members were well represented with various entries in the Craft and Food sections of the show. Congratulations to all the members who won prizes and well done to those who entered but did not win a prize. The judges would not have had a easy time choosing the winners.

MACG had displays of different handiwork by each different group at the workshop during the show. There were lots of visitors and some were very intrigued watching the demonstrations of the quilting and the spinning.

Autumn Fair 2015

MACG’s Autumn Fair was held on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of May at the Maleny Community Centre. In spite of the inclement weather the Fair was a success. The deluge of rain on Friday did keep the numbers of visitors down, but Saturday and Sunday dawned fine. Thanks to all those that supported the fair.

There was a wide array of goods for sale all made by members. Available was Pottery, Quilting, Sewn Articles, Paintings, Glassware, Knitting, Jewellery, Fashion  and food items just to name a few.
